It has been announced that Mark Knopfler's new album Tracker will be released on March 13 followed by a European tour commencing on May 15 at Dublin's 3 Arena.
Knopfler's European tour commences on May 15 at Dublin's 3 Arena. In advance of that much-anticipated performance, fans can look forward to Tracker, his seventh solo album. The record features sleeve notes by the Pulitzer Prize-winning author Richard Ford.
“The album title Tracker arrived out of me trying to find my way over the decades," says the former Dire Straits front-man. "Out of me tracking time - looking at people, places and things from my past, and out of the process of tracking as in recording tracks in the studio.
"Part of the fun is thinking what you might have a go at, for a new tour. For me, that’s part of the joy of it, getting that little crew together again, and setting sail once again. It’s a real adventure.”
Knopfler has played guitar in Bob Dylan's band in recent times. "The songs Lights of Taormina and Silver Eagle came into being partly through my trips in Europe and the US with Bob Dylan," he revealed.
