American Sniper was the highest-grossing film of 2014 in the United States, taking in $337.2 million at the box office.
Deadline reports that the Bradley Cooper-starring drama has overtaken The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, which took $336.8 million, to be named the highest-grossing film of the year.
Clint Eastwood's film tells the true story of Navy Seal Chris Kyle (Cooper), who is thought to be one of the most deadly marksmen in US military history.
To date, American Sniper has taken over $500.2 million worldwide.
