Showtime has released a new trailer for the upcoming Steve Coogan comedy series Happyish.

The official trailer was published on YouTube yesterday (March 6) and comes just a month after a shorter, teaser trailer was revealed by the US cable network.

Coogan plays Thom Payne, a chronically-dissatisfied man who's at odds with his younger boss and begins to feel like he doesn't belong in corporate America.

As the aptly-named Payne is also feeling under pressure to provide for his family, he struggles to figure out whether he can ever truly be happy.

The trailer reveals more about Thom's work and family life, while also introducing some of the questions he is asking himself on his 'pursuit of happiness'.

Happyish also stars Ellen Barkin, Bradley Whitford, Kathryn Hahn and Carrie Preston. Coogan was cast in the lead role to replace Philip Seymour Hoffman, who died in February 2014 after filming the pilot.

Happyish will premiere in the US in April.
