Torchwood star John Barrowman will produce and star in a new TV series, The 49th Key.
The actor is intending for the show, which is an adaptation of Heavy Metal magazine's on-going serial, to be an event television series, in the style of The Bible and The Slap.
The serial is based around the discovery of a secret world of angels below the surface of the earth, where a 16th century archeologist discovers the 'Enochian' land and its magical creatures while trying to escort a mystical young boy through England.
