Sylvester Stallone's hit movie franchise The Expendables is heading to television.
Deadline reports that the action star will executive produce the TV series for Fox, alongside the films' producer Avi Lerner and Shane Brennan who will serve as showrunner.
The limited run series will feature iconic television stars as a new group of Expendables who will unite to stop a global terrorist threat.
There is no cast attached to the project yet, and it is not known if Stallone will reprise his role as Expendables leader Barney Ross for the TV adaptation.
A pilot for the show, which is described as a "fun action drama", is currently being written by Greg Coolidge and Kirk Ward with Shane Brennan.
