Bruce Willis is set to make his Broadway debut later in 2015.
Warner Bros Theatre Ventures is bringing an adaptation of Stephen King's novel Misery to the stage and has enlisted Willis to take the leading role, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
He will star opposite House of Cards' Elizabeth Marvel in the play penned by two-time Oscar winner William Goldman.
Willis will play the romance novelist Paul Sheldon, who becomes a prisoner of an unhinged fan Wilkes (Marvel), after she learns he plans to kill off her favourite fictional character.
Will Frears will direct the stage adaptation for the limited run production, which is set to debut in the autumn. The exact dates and a theatre have yet to be announced.
