Leonardo DiCaprio has been cast in The Crowded Room.
He will play Billy Milligan, who was the first person to be acquitted for a crime using multiple personality disorder as a defence and was said to have 24 personalities.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, DiCaprio has been eyeing the role for nearly 20 years.
The film is based on Daniel Keyes' 1981 book The Minds of Billy Milligan, which chronicles Milligan's story, including his court trial in the late 1970s in Ohio.
Jason Smilovic and Todd Katzberg have written the script for the film adaptation, which will be produced by DiCaprio, Jennifer Davisson and Alexandra Milchan.
DiCaprio can next be seen in The Revenant.
