Paula Patton has taken the lead in an upcoming ABC pilot called Runner.
The drama delves into the traditionally male-dominated world of arms dealing through the eyes of a woman, according to Deadline.
The series will follow Lauren Marks (Patton) who discovers that her dead husband is still alive and travelling with a mysterious woman using her identity.
She tries to uncover the truth, which leads her into a world of secrets and crime, where she runs into Mexican cartels and people from her past she had hoped to forget.
Runner is based on the Turkish series Son and will be directed by Michael Offer from a script by Michael Cooney.
