Wesley Snipes has been cast in the NBC TV pilot Endgame, which centres on the high-security world of Las Vegas.
Strike Back's Philip Winchester stars as a security expert who is drawn into a competition known as The Game in order to save innocent lives.
Snipes has been cast as The Game's Pit Boss, who puts Winchester's character Alex through a series of heroic challenges.
Also joining the Endgame pilot will be Prime Suspect's Damon Gupton as Alex's closest confidant.
If the pilot is successful, it will be Snipes's first recurring role in a television series since he reached super-stardom in the early 1990s.
Snipes became an action movie icon by starring in the Blade films, Passenger 57, Demolition Man, Money Train and US Marshals.
