For one teenage transplant from New York City, the suburbs represent a unique version of hell. Forget purgatory - this is suburgatory, or so it seems to 16-year-old Tessa Altman when her father, George Altman, uproots the family from their apartment in New York City to move to the prosperous and smug burb of Chatswin. George wonders if they haven’t jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Critical is a 13-part series set in a state-of-the-art Major Trauma Centre, a unit which treats only the most gravely ill or seriously injured. Each episode features a new case over the course of one hour. Lennie James (The Walking Dead, Line of Duty) plays locum trauma consultant Glen Boyle. Irish actress Catherine Walker (Strike Back, Patrick’s Day ) plays trauma registrar Fiona Lomas.
