Big Shot, an original musical written by Malahide native Lauryn Gaffney, hits the O'Reilly Theatre in Dublin on February 26 and 27. TEN caught up with Lauryn and some of the cast to find out what the musical is all about. Click through for the interview.

Directed by Maureen V Ward, Big Shot tells the story of Jeremy Crocker, a savvy defence lawyer thriving in New York City’s bustling legal profession. Despite his ambitions Crocker falls in love with Carrie, a struggling Irish artist who works in Crocker’s go-to café in downtown Manhattan.

Although the two become ever more infatuated by each other, the romance threatens to derail Crocker’s career - with particular regard to a dubious new defence case he has taken on.

The Big Shot troupe have also set their sights on the sunnier side of USA, with the musical now set to make a five-day appearance at the San Diego Fringe Festival this summer.

“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has contributed to Big Shot,” says writer and producer Lauryn Gaffney

“To have been accepted into the 2015 San Diego Fringe is a dream come true for not only myself, but also the cast and musicians."
