Harry Styles is reported to have recorded new material in Hollywood with Maroon 5 and Ariana Grande producer Johan Carlsson, fuelling continuing rumours that the 1D star is set to launch a solo career.
Swedish-born Carlsson told The Mail on Sunday that he and Styles were "just writing songs and seeing if we can come up with something cool. He's such a good songwriter - it's an honour to write music with him."
Carlsson continued: "He's fantastic with the words and he can really put down lyrics that are very conversational and people can relate to. We're just having a good time."
Styles and Carlsson co-wrote Ariana Grande's hit Just a Little Bit of Your Heart, and the producer told the Mail that he and Styles worked together "on and off several days a week for four weeks" in a private studio before One Direction embarked on their On the Road Again world tour.
However, a spokesman for One Direction told the Mail that Styles had been in the studio to work on the group's new album, adding that the other four members of One Direction had also been recording on their own for the new record.
