Noel Gallagher will be a guest on the BBC’s Match of the Day 2 on Sunday, to review Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham United, Everton v Leicester City and Southampton v Liverpool.
The former Oasis musician and Manchester City fan interviewed the club’s then striker Mario Balotelli for the programme Football Focus in 2012. The Italian player gave his first big interview in England to the BBC simply because it would be with Gallagher.
The guitarist and song-writer - who is readying the release of his second solo album - will also front a feature on City’s match against Newcastle, which takes places on Saturday evening.
Previous celebrity appearances on MOTD include West Ham fan and comedian Russell Brand appeared on Match of the Day last season to promote Sport Relief. Alan Shearer and the Brazilian World Cup winner Leonardo were also on the panel.
In 1994 Frank Skinner and David Baddiel - who at the time were presenters of the Fantasy Football League show - also appeared.
