Former Westlifer Markus Feehily has uploaded his debut solo single Love is a Drug. It's EPIC stuff. Have a listen here.

The track, released on April 19, was written by Feehily and Mojam, a songwriter/producer who has previously worked with Sam Smith, Professor Green, Naughty Boy and Emeli Sandé.

34-year-old Sligo man Feehily was in Westlife for 14 years and has been working on solo material since the boyband split in 2012. He plans to release his solo album later this year.

He is set to make his live debut in a gig at Dublin's Olympia Theatre on March 8.

"I've been busy in the studio for the last two-and-a-half years. I did my first video shoot the other day for the first single," he said.

"It felt so different being on my own, but it also felt the same - I've made 37 videos before."

Feehily has also ventured into the catering business. He told Breakfast Republic on 2fm: "I have lots of other interests outside music. I really love festivals and that's probably what started the whole thing.

"It's a business," he added. "I like to keep myself busy. You can't be in the studio all day every day because you can wear down your creative side.

"It was just an idea we had when we were drinking cocktails in the back garden one summer. Now we have a business and it's going really well.

"I said it in an interview a few weeks ago and the reaction exploded, it went viral online. It's great publicity all together."
