EastEnders' star Jake Wood reckons that tonight will be "jaw-dropping" as viewers finally discover who killed Lucy Beale.

Today the BBC soap celebrates its 30th anniversary with an hour-long episode which will reveal Lucy's killer and delve into the events which led up to her death on Good Friday 2014.

Speaking on ITV's Lorraine this morning (February 19), Wood said: "It's been amazing. The eps are getting bigger and better. There's huge revelations tonight.

"We stayed late last night - we rehearsed tonight's episode last night after the live episode went out. W''ve got an hour-long live episode followed by a flashback episode.

I've not seen any of that stuff before - a lot of that had been censored. It's amazing, it's jaw-dropping. It's an amazing week!"

When asked if he knew the killer's identity, he replied: "Maybe possibly! I couldn't possibly say. Obviously things are having to be revealed to the cast round about now, where we've been completely in the dark. I'm as blown away as everyone will be once they watch the eps tonight. It's great."

Tonight's episode of EastEnders will be followed on BBC One at 9.25pm by a special flashback episode, which will run tomorrow at 7.30pm on RTÉ One before Friday's scheduled episode.
