As part of the RTÉ Concert Orchestra Signature Series 2015, former Pink Martini singer Storm Large plays the National Concert Hall on Tuesday April 14.

Large has been an actress, has fronted rock bands in clubs, and competed on the CBS reality show Rock Star: Supernova. She has also toured with mini-pop orchestra, Pink Martini.

Her show displays her versatility, drawing on cabaret, rock anthems, classical song and interpretations of the Great American Songbook. Cole Porter’s I’ve Got You Under My Skin, The Lady is a Tramp, and Total Eclipse of the Heart are standards in her set-list..

Storm will also deliver the musical theatre masterpiece, The Seven Deadly Sins, Kurt Weill’s final collaboration with Bertolt Brecht and his last work before he fled Germany.

The Seven Deadly Sins tells the tale of what could be two sisters - or a split personality - as they set out on a tour of seven American cities. Storm performed the piece at Carnegie Hall in 2013 to rave reviews, including particular praise from the New York Times.

"Storm is an artist that needs to be experienced to be fully appreciated, " declared Greg Roth, in the Seattle Music Insider. "How do you describe a tornado or earthquake to someone who’s never been through one?"
