Billy Connolly is currently performing his extensive High Horse tour in Australia, despite the early stages of Parkinson's disease.

The tour began in Melbourne in late January, and since Friday February 6, Connolly has been performing a number of dates at Sydney Opera House.

The five-night run ends on Thursday night, before dates in Wollongong, Canberra, Sydney once again, Newcastle and a slew of dates in Brisbane, with further appearances in Adelaide, Hobart and Perth also scheduled. The tour ends in Perth on March 11.

Last year, Connolly, 72, had his prostate removed following a cancer diagnosis.

During a show in Perth, Scotland last October, the comedian supported himself by leaning on a small table on stage, and sipped a glass of water.

Early in the show, he drew attention to his Parkinson's, telling the audience not to worry about his left arm, even if it had a tendency to drift upwards at an odd angle, into a position that "makes it look like I'm carrying an invisible raincoat".
