Boyne, Tóibín in NY Conversation

On Monday Feb 23, best-selling novelists John Boyne and Colm Tóibín will be in conversation at 52 Prince St New York on the subject of  "making sense of complicity in atrocity."

A priest in Ireland grapples with his collusion in clerical abuse in John Boyne’s latest novel, A History of Loneliness, a study of the abuses of power within the Catholic Church.The much-acclaimed novel is set in the 1970s. 

Boyne and Tóibín (author of the Folio Prize-shortlisted Nora Webster) will engage in "a conversation about the methods we use to make sense of our complicity in atrocity."

Boyne's most popular book to date is The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, a young adult novel that became an international bestseller and was made into an award-winning film.

He is the recipient of two Irish Book Awards, the Bisto Book of the Year, and numerous international awards.

The event at 52 Prince St New York, New York 10012-3309 is scheduled to begin at 7.00pm.
