RTÉ lyric fm's Marty Whelan has teamed up with Universal Music Ireland to release Marty Recommends, a double album of his "old favourites and timeless classics" next month.
Whelan said: "The timing was just right. I was both delighted and flattered to be involved with this campaign. It has been great fun in the selection process and from start to finish the whole album."
The album is released in stores and digitally on March 6 and among the contemporary classics on CD One are Van Morrison's Moondance, Imelda May's Kentish Town Waltz, Sammy Davis Jnr's Mr Bojangles and Melody Gardot's Baby I'm a Fool.
CD Two features Alfie Boe's Pure Imagination, Luciano Pavorotti's version of Nessun Dorma and Whelan's all-time favourite, Ennio Morricone's Deborah's Theme, among others.
