The Wicklow native has announced she is leaving MTV News after seven years due to other commitments.
The 29-year-old TV presenter who hails from Bray, Co Wicklow began her career with music station after winning the talent search competition, Pick Me MTV, in 2008.
Writing on Instagram today (February 16) Whitmore revealed that she is parting ways with MTV News. She said: "After 7 years, I have decided it's time to hang up my MTV news hat.
"It was my very first telly job and I can't thank MTV enough for taking the chance on me. However due to some upcoming projects I can no longer commit."
Whitmore will not be severing all ties with the channel. In her post she added that she will still present irregular segments, including festivals.
"There are some other exciting projects over the next 9 months I will be telling you about when I can," she wrote.
"In the mean time, next week will be my last news records. It's been a blast!"
