James Franco has signed up to star in and produce an upcoming project from Star Wars filmmaker JJ Abrams, which is based on a Stephen King book.
Abrams is adapting King's 2011 novel 11/22/63 for the online streaming service Hulu.
Franco will star in the nine-episode series as a high school English teacher called Jake Epping, who travels back in time to prevent the assassination of President John F Kennedy.
Friday Night Lights scribe Bridge Carpenter will write the screenplay and will also produce the series with Abrams's Bad Robot Productions, Franco and Warner Bros Television.
