Stephen Fry, who has portrayed Oscar Wilde on screen, is to present actress Carrie Fisher with her award at the US-Ireland Alliance's 10th annual Oscar Wilde Awards next week.
The awards ceremony "honours the creative Irish and introduces people in the entertainment world in Ireland to those in the US".
It takes place at director JJ Abrams' Bad Robot production company in Santa Monica on Thursday February 19 with Abrams the MC on the night.
Abrams will present an award to another honouree, satirist Stephen Colbert, while businessman Garrett Kelleher will present Irish painter Colin Davidson with his award.
Both Fisher and Colbert's great-great grandfathers hailed from Ireland.
Davidson has donated his portrait of singer-songwriter Glen Hansard for an auction to benefit the US-Ireland Alliance's George J Mitchell Scholarship programme. Bidding is open at: http://ebay.to/1CcGMtx and the winning bid will be announced on the night.
Singer-songwriters Gavin James and Megan O'Neill will perform at the ceremony.
