Joni Mitchell has addressed long-running rumours that Taylor Swift is set to play her in an upcoming biopic, saying: 'If she's going to sing, good luck'.
According to New York Magazine, 71-year-old Mitchell said: “I’ve never heard Taylor’s music. I’ve seen her. Physically, she looks similarly small-hipped and high cheekbones. I can see why the cast her.
“I don’t know what her music sounds like, but I do know this - that if she’s going to sing and play me, good luck.”
Swift was first considered for the lead role in a film version of Sheila Weller's book Girls Like Us, which studies Mitchell’s impact on the seventies music scene. Her contemporaries Carly Simon and Carole King are also featured.
