Tom Crean Antarctic Explorer returns to Dublin's Olympia Theatre for seven performances , from Monday May 11 to Saturday 16 May 16.

Aidan Dooley’s award winning one-man play tells the heroic tale of Tom Crean (1877 – 1938), the intrepid, Irish Antarctic explorer and the only man to serve with Scott and Shackleton on three famous expeditions.

Crean’s thirty-six mile solitary trek to base camp during the Terra Nova expedition to rescue two comrades has been described by Antarctic historians as “the finest feat of individual heroism from the entire age of exploration.” Crean was subsequently awarded the Albert Medal for his bravery.

Aidan Dooley’s show was Winner of Fringe First in Edinburgh 2006, it won Best Solo performance at the New York International Fringe Festival 2003, and received a Best Actor nomination at the Dublin Fringe Festival the same year.

Aside from nightly performances, there will also be a matinee show on Saturday May 16. Tickets from €25 (including booking fee) are on sale now and available to purchase from Ticketmaster and The Olympia Box Office. Book online: www.ticketmaster.ie
