Birdman director Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu has been named Best Feature Film Director at the Directors' Guild of America's annual DGA Awards.
Iñárritu was previously nominated for the film Babel in 2007 and won the DGA award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Commercials for Best Job in 2013.
Laura Poitras won Best Documentary Director for Citizenfour.
In other categories, Lesli Linka Glatter was honoured with the Dramatic Series award for Homeland; Jill Soloway won the Comedy Series award for Transparent and Lisa Cholodenko won the Movies for Television and Miniseries category for her work on Olive Kitteridge.
