John Mayer has made a very public joke about his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift, saying he plans to spend the Grammy Awards "being avoided" by the singer.
During his opening monologue as he hosted The Late Late Show on CBS in America, Mayer, who split from Swift in 2010, said: "You can see me at the Grammy Awards doing what I do best. Being avoided by Taylor Swift."
Hollywoodlife.com quotes a source as saying Swift is less than pleased about Mayer's remarks: "A lot of Taylor's friends want her to retaliate. I doubt she will - that's not her style. She does think it's pretty lame that John has to use her for material, like, five years after they dated."
It is believed Mayer was the inspiration for Swift's track Dear John.
