Rap mogul Marion 'Suge' Knight has handed himself in to police in Los Angeles after a hit-and-run incident in Compton that left one man dead and another injured.

The incident took place on Thursday January 29 in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant following a reported fight on the set of the NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has said the case is being investigated as a homicide, but James Blatt, lawyer for the Death Row Records founder, told NBC News it was a "tragic accident".

"We are confident that once the investigation is completed, he will be totally exonerated," Blatt told the Associated Press
