Veteran wildlife broadcaster David Attenborough was constantly interrupted by squawking Birds of Paradise as he filmed new BBC series Attenborough's Paradise Birds.

Each time he attempted to deliver a link, he was drowned out by the loquacious bird.

Attenborough was the first to film the bird at any great length and he has spent a life time tracking them all over the jungles of New Guinea/Indonesia.

“For me Birds of Paradise are the most romantic and glamorous birds in the world, " he says. "And this is a film I have wanted to make for 40 years.”

In this very personal film, the 88-year-old  uncovers the remarkable story of how these 'birds from paradise' have captivated explorers, naturalists, artists, film makers and even royalty. He  explores the evolution of their spectacular appearance which has in fact been driven by sex.

Watch the rather challenged, final takes in Attenborough's Paradise Birds BBC Two which will be aired on Thursday next January 29, on BBC Two.
