It has been confirmed that Simon Pegg will write Star Trek 3 with Dark Blue creator Doug Jung.
The 44-year-old actor, who stars as Scotty in the sci-fi series, has previously penned movies Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World's End and Run Fatboy Run, will now team-up with Doug Jung for the latest Star Trek instalment.
This news comes soon after Justin Lin was confirmed to direct Star Trek 3.
The Fast & Furious director was chosen to replace Roberto Orci, who gave-up the job but chose to stay on as a producer of the film.
A number of well-known directors were linked to the coveted role, including Morten Tyldum of The Imitation Game, but Lin was the only person to have been offered the job.
The move came after Lin's planned Bourne Legacy sequel starring Jeremy Renner was delayed to allow Matt Damon to return to the Bourne franchise.
