Take That have revealed they would love to write the theme song for the next James Bond film, Spectre, but reckon Sam Smith might beat them to the honour.

The band, who are presently made up of Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald, are currently promoting their song, Get Ready For It, which they recorded for upcoming film, Kingsman: The Secret Service, have admitted they would love to be involved with the music for Spectre.

Speaking to Digital Spy Donald said: "Howard said: ''I would love to write a Bond theme!''

There has been plenty of speculation over who will feature on the soundtrack on the upcoming 24th Bond movie, which is due to be released in November with Daniel Craig reprising the role of James Bond.

Mark Ronson recently said that to have any involvement with the project is ''every little boy's dream'', while Lana Del Rey and Sam Smith have also been suggested as serious possibilities.

Ed Sheeran previously tipped Sam for the film's single, with Barlow also backing the Stay With Me hitmaker after discovering he is the bookmakers' favourite to record the theme. He said: ''He'd be brilliant. Get him in!''
