Clive Russell in After Braveheart - part tow tonight

After Braveheart, the two-part documentary concludes tonight at 10.15pm on RTÉ One, while Ross Kemp Extreme World (9.00pm Sky 1) is in Ukraine looking at the role of the Far Right in the confused politics of that troubled state. Josie: The Most Hated Woman in Britain? can be seen at 10.00pm on Channel 4.

After Braveheart, 10.15pm RTÉ One

Concluding episode in the two-part docudrama which vividly depicts how a Scottish king tried to drive the English out of Ireland in 1315. The Mel Gibson movie Braveheart ends with the Battle of Bannockburn - which should have ensured Scottish freedom - but didn’t in fact do so. Even after Bannockburn, Robert Bruce and his brother Edward remained uneasy about the threat of a renewed English invasion. The best form of defence was attack. The brothers decided to invade Ireland and make Edward high king there. In this way they would unite the Celtic nations and drive the hated English back to their homeland. Starring Clive Russell (Game of Thrones, Ripper Street) as Robert Bruce, Douglas Russell as Edward Bruce, and Stuart McMillan as the Scottish soldier, Maon.

Ross Kemp Extreme World, 9.00pm Sky 1

The fourth series begins with the roving reporter travelling to Ukraine, where the government has embraced right-wing militias as a defending force against pro-Russian forces. The rise of the far-right Azov Battalion is driven by huge inflation and "endemic corruption" in Ukraine, the presenter recently explained to Digital Spy. "They've already proved themselves, the Azov Battalion. I understand why they're being supported, because there's no-one else that's going to stand up against the chance of a Russian invasion. These guys are willing to risk their lives when no-one else is, so you've got to admire them, whether you agree with their politics or not."

Josie: The Most Hated Woman in Britain?, 10.00pm Channel 4

Rather disingenuously ambitious title for a programme whose subject no doubt many Brits have never in fact heard of. What about people who only watch Shostakovitch string quartets and opera on BBC 4? Or viewers who are passionate about darts or gardens? Come to think of it in fact, why would they have reason to hate anyone in fact?  Anyway, the said Josie Cunningham has once planned to sell tickets to the birth of her baby. Oh, and she posts outrageous tweets all the while. Cunningham first became famous in 2009 when she asked for - and was granted - cosmetic surgery, provided through Britain’s National Health Service.
