US TV host Ellen DeGeneres has tweeted the Colin Farrell interview on last Monday's Claire Byrne Live to her 38 million followers.
The new RTÉ current affairs show's team got a phone call late last (Tuesday) night direct from Ellen DeGeneres' production company in Los Angeles.
They had seen the video of the Claire Byrne Live interview with Colin Farrell online and asked to put it up Ellentube.com, Ellen’s own new digital platform.
The video upload was fast-tracked and within an hour it had appeared on the home page of Ellentube. Within hours it was headlining their trending section with thousands of views.
The Ellen Show twitter account - one of the Top ten most-followed in the world - then tweeted the link to the video to their over 38 million twitter followers.
Within the last 24 hours the Claire Byrne Live interview was truly gone international. The video has also been posted and tweeted about by The Huffington Post and Canadian entertainment show ET Canada.
Colin Farrell explains his support for marriage equality in a beautiful way. I couldn’t have said it better myself. http://t.co/dWt9hIWrgh
