Cedric Nicolas-Troyan has been announced as the new director of The Huntsman following Frank Darabont's departure last week.
Nicholas-Troyan was the Visual Effects Supervisor and Second Unit Director on Snow White and the Huntsman in 2012 and received an Oscar nomination for his work.
He previously worked on Maleficent, The Ring, and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that Universal still plans to release the follow-up to 2012's Snow White and the Huntsman on April 22, 2016.
Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron are reprising their roles as the Huntsman and Ravenna for the sequel, but Kristen Stewart is not returning.
