Gary Sinise has been lined up to lead the cast of a new Criminal Minds spin-off.
The offshoot will focus on a division of the FBI that is tasked with helping Americans abroad who are in trouble.
According to Deadline, Sinise is starring as the division's boss Jack Garrett, who has been working for the FBI for 20 years.
Sinise is best known for previously playing Detective Mac Taylor for nine years on CSI's New York spin-off.
The Criminal Minds offshoot will have an episode filmed next month which will air as part of the current season of Criminal Minds.
A previous spin-off called Criminal Minds: Suspect Behaviour, starring Forest Whitaker, debuted in 2011 but was cancelled after just one season.
