The Irish Film Institute has announced that it will screen Christopher Nolan's sci-fi epic Interstellar in the 70mm format from Friday February 13.

The IFI says it is "the only cinema in Ireland capable of projecting this super high-quality sound and vision format".

Starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Mackenzie Foy, Michael Caine and Casey Affleck, Interstellar tells the story of astronauts who embark on a mission from a dying earth.

Tickets, priced €10 for IFI members and €12 for non-members, are available now from: www.ifi.ie or: (01) 679 3477.
