Irish actors Stuart Townsend (Betrayal) and Joe Doyle (RAW) have joined WGN America's 17th-century drama Salem for its second series.
Salem is set in the Massachusetts town of the same name and explores the story behind the infamous witch trials.
Deadline.com says Townsend will play Samuel Wainwright, an English doctor out to discover the town's secrets while also making sure that no-one finds out his own.
Doyle will play Baron Sebastian Marburg, the son of Countess Marburg (played by another new cast member, Lucy Lawless), who is one of the last survivors of a line of German witches.
Filming has begun in Shreveport, Louisiana and the series will premiere in the US in April.
