Noel Gallagher has released the new video for single Ballad of The Mighty in which he sends up every cliche of the promo format he is well known for hating. Watch it here.
The song is the first single from his forthcoming album Chasing Yesterday and it features one Johnny Marr.
:Last year, a video of Gallagher bringing his dry wit to bear on every Oasis video became a hit on YouTube and the clip for Ballad of The Mighty sees him repeating every cliche and convention of the form.
Among his barbs was the fact that Oasis were very good at “walking and playing and standing still . . . and looking bored”.
Talking about making pop videos, he said at the time, “I hate the fact they cost a fortune. I hate the fact you’ve got to be there at 8 in the morning. I hate the fact you don’t leave until 8 the next morning.
"I don’t like the fact that the people who are making them think they’re making Apocalypse Now and everything is the most important - ‘this the really important shot'."
