Charisma Carpenter, who played Cordelia Chase in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, is to star in a Fifty Shades of Grey lampoon movie from the people that brought you deathless cinematic classic, Sharknado.
Bound, which is being styled as a 'mockbuster', is inspired by EL James' best-selling bonkbuster and hit US cinemas yesterday, ahead of the release of the real Fifty Shades adaptation which stars Jamie Dornan.
The tagline for the movie is "No Grey. Only Black and White."
Carpenter plays Michelle Milan, a "wealthy divorcée and single mother". She is working at her father's estate agency in Beverley Hills, when she meets Ryan Black (Bryce Draper), a younger man who introduces her to BDSM.
Daniel Baldwin, brother of 30 Rock's Alec Baldwin, will play Michelle's father.
However, Bound production company, Asylum, were careful to clarify that their movie has no official connection to Fifty Shades of Grey.
“We’re thrilled to bring Bound to audiences, a film that has been compared to Fifty Shades of Grey in that it addresses the subject of BDSM, Writer director Jared Cohn said.
"However, our story is a very distinctive and pointedly modern version of the traditional dominant/submissive stereotype."
Bound was shown in selected US cinemas yesterday (January 9), and is now available on iTunes.
