Limerick-born Richard D James of Aphex Twin, U2 and The Gloaming are among the ten acts named on this year's shortlist for the Choice Music Prize, the annual €10,000 award for the best Irish album of the year.

The Meteor Choice Music Prize for Irish Album of The Year 2014, is awarded in association with IMRO and IRMA and the winning album will be announced at a event, held in Vicar Street, Dublin on Thursday, March 5.
The night will be broadcast live on Today FM and a one-hour TV special will also be broadcast on RTÉ 2 on Sunday, March 8.
Planning is also underway to mark the tenth year of the prize.
The shortlist for The Meteor Choice Music Prize - Irish Song Of The Year 2014 will be also be announced later this month.
