Casey Affleck has replaced Matt Damon in Kenneth Lonergan's upcoming drama Manchester-by-the-Sea.
Affleck revealed the news in an interview with The Boston Globe.
The film centres around a plumber who returns to his hometown after his brother's death to look after his nephew. His return causes old secrets to be brought to light.
Affleck can next be seen alongside Ben Foster and Chris Pine in The Finest Hours and in John Hillcoat's crime drama Triple Nine.
