2012 X Factor winner James Arthur has apologised to One Direction fans for making disparaging remarks about the band.
The singer admitted that he was "an idiot" for a series of comments he made about them in 2013, when he labelled them "a marketing product" and claimed Louis Tomlinson had been a "little bitch" towards him.
"Hoping some of the @onedirection fans have forgiven me for being an idiot a couple years back after my cover of and a big fat sorry!" Arthur tweeted.
He later added: "I went crazy is all lol."
The X Factor winner is currently working on his second studio album while searching for a new record deal.
