Seth Rogen's controversial comedy The Interview has expanded its release to include Video On Demand services and the PlayStation Network.
Sony confirmed that the film will be released later today (December 31) on iN DEMAND, VUBIQUITY, Verizon FiOS and DIRECTV services across the US at the price of $5.99, while the PlayStation Network will get the film on Thursday, January 1.
Sony chairman Michael Lynton said of the news: "We have always sought the widest possible distribution for The Interview, and want to thank our new partners for helping us make that happen."
The film's theatrical release was dancelled after several US cinema chains pulled out of showing it in the wake of a terrorist threat.
The Interview subsequently debuted on YouTube and Google Play on Christmas Eve (December 24) and was made available to rent and purchase on iTunes on Sunday (December 28).
