No matter what you're doing for the next couple of days or how you're celebrating New Year, bring the radio with you and enjoy some fab highlights on RTÉ Radio 1 and 2fm.

Tonight, New Year's Eve – Wednesday December 31

Not on the Effing Playlist – 2fm, 8pm to 10pm:
Tonight its Keith Walsh from Breakfast Republic's turn to rip up the rulebook and take over the decks on 2fm tonight with his own unique play list and favourite tunes. Tomorrow night, same time, same place Louise McSharry will make a welcome return to the station to play us her top tunes. JJ's New Years Eve Dance Off – 2fm, 10pm until 1am:
JJ Hartigan is kicking off 2015 in style with JJ's New Years Eve Dance Off, live from Limerick. He'll be bringing us the biggest tracks of the year along with all listeners New Year requests.

Old Year’s Airs – Radio 1, 7-9pm:
There were almost 300 live performances on RTÉ Radio 1 this year; well over two thirds were Irish bands and musicians. Before the handover to John Creedon’s Party Neil Doherty brings you some of the best music performances from Radio 1 this year both Irish and international.

John Creedon's New Year’s Eve Party – Radio 1, 9pm: 
Give 2014 a lively send-off on Radio 1 this New Year's Eve. John Creedon brings you all the excitement and colour of the New Year's Eve Festival live from College Green in the heart of Dublin. With Kodaline, James Vincent McMorrow, Walking on Cars, and Dublin Legend (formerly of the Dubliners), there's music and good vibes for everyone. Ring them bells!

Walking on Cars will be ringing in the New Year live on Radio 1 on John Creedon's New Year's Eve Party:

New Year's Day – Thursday January 1, 2015 

From Dance Hall Days to Boogie Nights, Radio 1, 2pm: 
Ireland in the 60’s when Show bands were the Kings until a group of youthful entrepreneurs stole back the night. Teenagers began to party. Disco was born and Fashion and Music came together on the dance floor. A legacy that has survived for 50 years. Will Leahy tells the story with those who owned the clubs and those who danced in the biggest venues.

Songwriters, Radio 1, 4pm:
Tomorrow at 4pm, Songwriters is on Radio 1 with presenter Paddy McKenna hosting an interview with Irish band Delorentos on the art of songwriting and the creative process. Recorded live in IMRO in Dublin, the band will also perform on the show.

Friday January 2, 2015 


The Best of Breakfast Republic 2014, 10am to 12pm:
Breakfast Republic on 2fm will be served a little later than usual from 10am to 12 noon with Bernard O'Shea, Keith Walsh and Jen Maguire bringing us through their best bits of 2014 so tune in for lots of LOL's!

Saturday January 3 & Sunday January 4, 2015

Weekenders, 2fm, 2 to 5pm:
Weekenders' presenters Ruth Scott and Paddy McKenna bring a great mix of the latest entertainment news including a little round-up of 'In Case You Missed It Celeb News' on Saturdays.  On Sundays they have Sexy News a whole new take on celebrity goss!
