Fast & Furious director Justin Lin will direct Star Trek 3.
The Taiwanese-born American film director has been chosen to replace Roberto Orci, who turned down the role but decided to stay on as a producer of the highly-anticipated film.
The exciting news, which has been confirmed by Lin's representatives, was only made possible after his proposed Bourne Legacy sequel starring Jeremy Renner was delayed to allow Matt Damon to return to the Bourne franchise.
Star Trek 3 is tipped for release in 2016.
