The New York premiere for Seth Rogen's comedy The Interview has been cancelled due to the threat of terrorist attacks against the film and its audiences.
The controversial film follows a TV presenter and his sidekick who set out on a mission to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
The premiere was due to take place on Thursday December 18 but has now been cancelled following threats from the 'Guardians of Peace' group who claim to be behind the recent Sony Pictures email hacks.
On Tuesday December 16, the group issued a threat saying it would target any cinema screenings of The Interview, including the premiere at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema in New York.
Rogen and co-star James Franco attended the Hollywood premiere last week but did not do any red carpet interviews.
The film is due to be released on Christmas Day in the US and in Ireland on February 6, 2015.
