Kerry actor Timothy V Murphy is joining Colin Farrell in the second season of the acclaimed HBO series True Detective.
A native of Tralee who trained at Dublin's Focus Theatre, Murphy will play Russian gangster Osip Agranov in True Detective.
His other screen credits include Sons of Anarchy, Criminal Minds, The Lone Ranger, NCIS: Los Angeles, 24, Appaloosa and National Treasure: Book of Secrets.
Onstage he has starred in Martin McDonagh's The Beauty Queen of Leenane and Stones in His Pockets.
Murphy has recently finished filming on the new Netflix comedy series Grace and Frankie, which stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.
He is also developing Holy Roller, a series about an errant priest in Las Vegas, and a film about Irish explorer Tom Crean.
