Angelina Jolie has revealed that she had to "fight" to direct her new film Unbroken.
The actress and director said that she had "no shame" when it came to pitching to direct the biopic about prisoner-of-war Louis Zamperini.
According to the London Evening Standard, Jolie said: "I had to fight for the job. There was really no shame - it was anything I could do to get this job. I brought these [story] boards in this garbage bag up to this room and that was my big pitch."
She added that the film posed a huge challenge for her: "There were many days where I had my head in my hands, but the one person who told me I could do it was Louie."
Unbroken opens on December 26. Watch out for interviews with stars Jack O'Connell, Miyavi, Ross Anderson and Luke Treadaway in the coming weeks on RTÉ TEN.
