The X Factor's Simon Cowell stated after Sunday night's final that winner Ben Haenow is already at number three on iTunes.
Cowell announced that Haenow had achieved that feat on the iTunes singles chart, just half-an-hour after the winner's single Something I Need was released.
Haenow beat Fleur East in Sunday night's final to become the 2014 winner of the TV talent show.
Speaking on The Xtra Factor, the 29-year-old singer said: "I didn't expect that!"
His mentor Cowell went on to speak about the winner's debut single, saying: "We went on sale 30 minutes ago with the record and it's already [at] number three on iTunes."
Voting figures released after the finale showed that Haenow was the most popular act in every vote after the third week of the ITV show.
