Dad's Army remake to hit cinemas in February 2016

The upcoming Dad's Army remake has been handed an official cinema release date of February 5, 2016.

Based on the classic BBC sitcom of the same name, it was shot on location in Yorkshire over the past seven weeks, and concluded filming on December 3.

Directed by Oliver Parker, the film stars Toby Jones as Captain Mainwaring, Bill Nighy as Wilson, Catherine Zeta Jones as Rose, Tom Courtenay as Jones and Michael Gambon as Godfrey.

The cast also includes Blake Harrison as Pike, Danny Mays as Walker and Bill Paterson as Fraser. It will also star Sarah Lancashire, Alison Steadman, Mark Gatiss and Annette Crosbie.

Dad's Army was created by Jimmy Perry and the late David Croft and the TV series originally aired on BBC One between 1968 and 1977. The original film version was released in 1971.
