Benedict Cumberbatch has said his engagement to Sophie Hunter is "the most important thing of 2014" for him.
The 38-year-old actor announced his engagement to Hunter last month and speaking at the British Independent Film Awards in London last night (December 7) said: "I've had the most important news of my life.
"That's also sort of private, I don't want to talk about that too much. But my engagement to the woman I love is obviously the most important thing of 2014 for me."
